Works extremely well.

This induction plate is very attractive and works flawlessly. I almost never use my built in range, because this is better. Easy to use. Precise heating temperatures, instantly. My only complaint is fan noise and a slight buzzing sound.

Buy this one.

We like this cooktop!Quick overview: This unit brought two cups of 56 F. water to a boil with steam in 3 minutes flat per the timer. Hot water boiled even faster. Pancakes have very uniform brown color on both sides and don't burn as often as when cooking on the stovetop. Egg omelets seem slightly fluffier. Makes an excellent temperature controlled "keep warm" hot plate for cheese based dips, soups, chilli, large quantities of hot beverages, etc..Subtle features we really appreciate about this unit:> The lack of a hot surface, no flame or CO2 production, the cook timer & the automatic shut off feature. These options reduce the risk of accidents when young, inexperienced, elderly or forgetful people cook. They also help busy multi-tasking parents prepare meals more conveniently. These features are a huge help & give a little extra peace of mind.> Big, easy to read intuitive controls and an easy to read display.> THIS IS THE QUIETEST PORTABLE INDUCTION COOKTOP I'VE EVER HEARD!!! Will buy again especially for this reason. For the unaware, many induction cooktops are excessively noisy. Noise is a factor if your kitchen/apartment is small or several units are in use simultaneously.> Like some of our friends, we are considering getting 3 or 4 induction units because they are more convenient to cook with & have certain advantages vs. built-in stove tops. For example,A. There is always plenty of room for each pot or skillet since they can be positioned anywhere in the kitchen.B. One can cook while sitting down. This is important after being on your feet all day, if you have arthritis, Neuropathy or use a wheelchair.C. The units can be set back away from the counter's edge or in the middle of a table so little hands can't reach the controls or the pan handles.D. Smelly, steamy or greasy foods can be cooked outside on the patio or placed directly under the kitchen exhaust vent to protect indoor air quality, furniture, walls and flooring.E. Save $$$ buying cheaper cuts of meat (which used to be tougher to chew). This is no longer the case: First sear the meat, then add enough water to just cover the meat, add seasonings of your choice, cover & slow simmer on low heat for at least an hour (times vary with altitude & meat type). This produces the tenderest meat you'll ever taste! No pre-marinating, pounding or tenderizing required. We found cutting meat into 1"¡Á 1" strips before simmering improves texture & flavor. As a bonus, this method also tends to eliminate most pathogens, parasites & nasty organisms you don't want your family to ingest.F. Induction cooking is more precise, energy efficient and saves money over time. One little known way it does this is by generating less indoor waste heat than gas and resistive electric cooking devices. Less waste heat means the AC operates fewer hours per month, leading to slightly lower summer energy expenses. The smaller the structure, the bigger the savings.Negatives: Some of your old favorite cookware won't work so new cookware may need to be purchased.NOTE: A metal heating disk can be purchased that turns the inductive unit into a traditional hot surface cooking device so you can use non-magnetic cookware but be forewawarned: The metal heating disk REMAINS HOT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER THE POWER IS TURNED OFF AND THE PAN IT WAS HEATING IS REMOVED, so be careful.

Quiet enough to forget it's running£¡£¡

I spend a lot of time behind a stove, so little things start to matter. The first thing I noticed with this cooktop was the noise. No loud fan. No annoying buzzing. Just a low hum in the background. The second surprise was how much usable cooking space there is. My 12-inch cast iron pan finally heats the way it should. No rotating the pan. No chasing hot spots. Heat changes happen instantly too. Full boil one minute, gentle simmer the next. Honestly, it feels more like a serious kitchen tool than a portable appliance. Great value and a good option for anyone looking to upgrade to induction cooking.

Love the name: . Wanted to keep it just for the name! This is not a bad induction hot plate by the current standards for induction hot plates; price, quality, function-although as far as quality goes this thing is in the realm of maybe, maybe not. These things are replete with failures; lots of brands. It seems to me that for people who want to ¡°sear¡± meat forget it; go outside and build yourself a fire because you are going to kill your hot plate trying to max the thing. Temperature control stinks, I think they all do. They tend to overshoot bye a mile, at least before your pan is hot, then cut back. The machine can only read the temperature through the glass so get over it. Or spend an outrageous amount of money and maybe¡The cooking ring on this appliance IS larger than my D¡¯top, however not as large as advertised. The unit IS quiet, so hallelujah on that. The reason for the return is lack of ¡°grunt.¡± My first impression was that it did not boil water as quickly or maintain a rolling boil (at least with large pots of water which is one of the reasons you buy these things). A medium boil I would say that took 20 to 30% longer than my equivalent wattage D¡¯top. However the fan noise on my D-top unit is ridiculous, like microwave ridiculous. However, more grunt and I wear hearing protection. Maybe that noisy fan keeps the thing from frying; time will tell.Close, ChangBERT, close. For intimate hot pots this thing is probably the bomb because at least one can have a conversation while it operates. For those who want to ¡°can,¡± use a pressure cooker, or make beer, or cook corn, lobster, move on. Or, make a liar out of me. Not a bad machine, it¡¯s just that I thought it could replace my current appliance that theoretically could last ten years, however the odds are against such longevity. Cheers!

My Dad's is still going strong after 5 years

My dad has had one of this brand¡¯s heavy-duty models for about five years, and somehow it¡¯s still going strong despite being used like it owes him money. ?? So when we started planning a summer backyard party and I realized I needed a cooktop of my own, I figured I¡¯d stick with the family-approved brand and try this more portable version.I mostly use it for quick meals, and so far it¡¯s been great. It heats evenly, holds the temperature well, and is surprisingly quiet. Honestly, I was expecting a little more drama from something that gets this hot. It feels sturdy without being a giant kitchen brick, and it¡¯s compact enough to pack up for camping without taking over the whole car.Seeing my dad¡¯s cooktop survive five years of heavy use definitely gave me confidence in the brand. So far, mine has been doing its job, behaving itself, and making me look slightly more competent at outdoor cooking than I actually am. ?? Very happy with it!

A lightweight powerhouse!!

This induction cooktop is worth the price. My wife and I had a cheap $25 electric cooktop that did its job but took forever to heat up. This unit gets your pots and pans very hot in seconds. It only took about 13 min to get a 5.5 quart pasta pot to boil. We are extremely happy with this cooktop. I love that you can adjust the heat by watts or temp. This is a must buy.

Perfect for my kimchi jjigae nights

I¡¯ve been using this induction cooktop for a few months now and I¡¯m honestly loving it. I got it mainly to make kimchi jjigae at home¡ªmy comfort food¡ªand it¡¯s been working perfectly. It heats up fast, and both my cast iron skillet and Dutch oven work great on it. The soup gets to a rolling boil quickly at 1800 watts, and then holds a nice simmer at 1000 watts without fuss. Way easier to control than gas. It¡¯s been a great addition to my kitchen. It¡¯s very easy to use. It did take me a couple of tries to decide whether I preferred using the watt or temperature settings¡ªbut now I switch between both depending on what I¡¯m making. Also¡ªif you¡¯ve ever cooked kimchi stew, you know it splashes. And I used to hate cleaning my gas stove after. This one¡¯s so much easier to wipe down. The flat glass surface just takes one swipe.I¡¯ve had other induction cooktops before¡ªthe cheaper plastic ones. After a while, the casing would get scratched, or just feel worn out. And the touch controls were really hard to use¡ªespecially if there was steam or soup splatter on the panel. This one feels way more solid and durable. The buttons are easier to press, even when I¡¯m in the middle of cooking. Just makes life simpler. Now I just keep it set on top of my gas burners so it¡¯s under the vent hood, and I use it basically every day. Definitely one of my better kitchen buys.

Excellent, I'm a convert (+3mo update)

Fantastic! Can't wait to use my canning pot with it later this year, will be nice not having open flame adding to the summer heat. This cooktop works with all of my gear already (we have steel moka pots, cast iron, stainless pots). It does heat the scotch bowl but that still wants flame because the induction doesn't get any part other than the base hot unfortunately but that would've been an unlooked-for bonus. The temperature holding feature is fantastic, game changer. For the price, features and quality I doubt you can beat this.3 month addition: I bought a second one. We bought the first for heating up some stuff for beekeeping but now use changbert almost exclusively when cooking. One of my units developed a minor fault that the cooling fan never turned off. This was past the return period but I contacted changbert and they said "we'll send a replacement immediately you don't need to return the other" which is 5* customer care, seriously A+. So now I have my two plus a backup that totally works but just needs to be unplugged to stop making any noise.

good cooktop

this cooktop heats pan quickly and temp easy to regulate. Only downside is I wish the controls were angled down to keep them out of the way from large pans, but that is just a personal preference and in no way takes away from the usefulness of the appliance.

Induction stove

I don¡¯t see a brand name on the induction stove. That means I can¡¯t look it up in the internet when I have a question about the stove. I had to push buttons until I figure it out.

Great temperature controls, Heats quickly, Great build quality

I received a set of induction safe ceramic cookware recently and using my standard electric coil stove was miserable. You're supposed to only go up to a medium heat with them, so cooking anything or even boiling water took so much longer.I bought this with the hope to make my new cookware more useable and it definitely delivered! I love the option to have the temperature displayed in terms of degrees. This heats my cookware so quickly in comparison to my electric stove I've essentially switched to using this as my main cooking surface. My only cause for concern is that the top surface is so smooth that I caught my pans sliding out of the heating area occasionally, losing heat. As long as you keep an eye on it everything should be fine.I highly recommend this cooktop!
