Absolutely wonder single burner hot plate here!! Perfect for the van or RV camping. This brand has a fabulous two burner hot plate, that I'd use as the permanent stove on inside. Of course being careful an all. And then, I'd use this single burner for the outside fun cooking when camping. It's super easy to storage and clean. Easy to use. And, it's just an all around must have unit if on the road or staying at home! I highly recommend to you!! Great quality, durability, functionality, and price point!!! You will love it!! It definitely earns all 5 stars from me!!!

The advertised heat settings are misleading; even when turned up, the heat isn't very strong, making it ineffective for stir-frying.

I picked this up to reduce my propane use while cooking in the RV. It does the job, and you can definitely prepare a meal on it, but the controls take some getting used to.The cooktop sits about 2.75 inches high. That might not matter in a regular kitchen, but in the confined space of an RV, it can raise your cookware higher than you were expecting.My biggest complaint is how the cooking settings are organized. Everything is based on cooking modes, and each mode displays the heat level differently while also limiting the available settings. Warm and BBQ modes display the temperature in Fahrenheit but offer only two temperature choices each. Fry mode uses Celsius and also provides only two choices. Steam, Soup, and Hot Pot modes use wattage instead of temperature.I find Hot Pot mode the most useful because it provides the most flexibility when adjusting the heat, although you still do not know the actual cooking temperature. Overall, it works well enough for RV cooking and helps conserve propane, but the interface is far less intuitive than it should be.It works and serves its purpose, but the confusing controls, inconsistent temperature units, and limited settings keep it from earning five stars.

Never having used an induction cook top I was kind of blown away at how easy it was to use. I tried to use one of our normal everyday saucepan and kept getting an error message, so I switched over to an Oneida heavy bottom saucepan which boiled a quart of water in about 5 1/2 minutes.The build quality appears pretty solid and like I mentioned it heated up pretty quickly. Not having any previous experience with these units, I thought it was a bit bulky, but that just my opinion. Controls were easy to useand the presets are handy.This Induction Cooktop will make a nice addition to the camper so we can cook without using propane indoors.

My family loves when I bring this cooktop out because it means we get to cook a meal together around our outdoor table. The burner top is hot, but the bottom and surrounding sides never get warm, so we can use this on almost any table including our nice wooden dining table. This burner is so easy to setup too - I just plug it in and the skillet is hot in just a few moments.Since this is an induction burner, the company was thoughtful enough to include a small magnet that you can use to confirm your pot or skillet will work. It's those tiny details that make VBGK standout from all the rest. We have a few VBGK appliances in my home and they're all quality devices that never let me down. This burner is no different and I expect it will last for many years to come.
